I perform various operations for knee pain and deformity including, total knee replacements, partial knee replacement via a minimally invasive technique and patello-femoral joint replacement.
I also perform revision knee surgery. I also perform keyhole knee surgery to treat a variety of knee conditions such as torn meniscus/cartilage.
I perform approximately 750 operations per year, of which approx. 380 are knee arthroscopies. I performed the first pioneering Signature Personalised Knee replacement in England and Wales, a new technology designed to provide patients with a unique tailor made knee replacement. I have now performed over 190 Signature Personalised Knee replacements.
I graduated from Medical school in 1997. I then commenced surgical training on the King’s College Hospital, London and completed my higher surgical training on the South East Thames Orthopaedic training scheme. I was then appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Conquest Hospital in 2009.
My main clinical interests are: knee instability and ligament reconstruction – I perform minimally invasive surgery using a hamstring tendon graft. I also perform revision ACL surgery using a variety of graft choices to meet Individual patient needs.
I spent a year researching anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery and helped to develop and introduce a new surgical technique for reconstruction of the ACL. I also use Durolane injections on my patients’.
I enjoy teaching, and lecture on the registrar teaching program on all aspects of knee surgery. I teach on International courses for fellow surgeons around the world. I am involved with clinical research and lead a team investigating the mechanical strength of anterior cruciate ligament surgical fixation techniques. I regularly present my findings at national and international orthopaedic conferences.
I am a member on international orthopaedic faculties and frequently lecture on ACL reconstruction, knee replacement and partial knee replacement surgery.
