Mr Christopher Buckle participates in Clinical Research to aid better patient outcomes.

Our Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Mr Christopher Buckle, has recently participated in clinical research studies at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

Clinical research plays a crucial role in helping scientists gain a better understanding of diseases and conditions, advance treatments, and prevent future occurrences.

Mr Buckle, who serves as Principal Investigator, has been working closely with the research team and his colleagues to conduct studies on hip fracture techniques. Most recently, a new study has been launched focusing on resurfacing techniques for total knee replacements.

Mr Buckle comments, “Clinical research is clearly vital in helping us understand and improve the care we deliver. I believe research also offers significant benefits to the teams involved, fostering a culture of engagement, curiosity, and continuous development, all aimed at enhancing patient care.”

As part of one of the highest volume units managing patients with hip fractures in the country, Mr Buckle would like to see an ongoing programme of research that allows the trust to continuously raise the standards of care for this patient group.
